Scenario & Tactical Paintball

Welcome to Think Tank Paintball. This web site is designed to share some of my experience playing paintball, and to act as a resource for the community of players I interact with.

Paintball Tips is mostly for new players, but may have some valuable insight for more experienced paintball players too. The focus is on gear and what to expect when getting into the sport.

Paintball Tactics discusses the game itself: how paintball works at the player's level, how to increase the quality of your game and other useful info.

Paintball Articles discusses the game outside the field. It is a catch-all section on various game topics, including the science of paintball, myth-busting and more.

Game Rules covers the basic ruels used at Think Tank events, and variations on those rules. There are new game types which improve the variety and excitement of your typical paintball game.

Events provides information on upcoming and past Think Tank Paintball events.

Some Background: I have been playing paintball in Texas for 17 years. I have played recreational paintball, tournament paintball (back in the day) and I now primarily concentrate on tactical and scenario paintball.

One of the best parts about paintball is the after-game tales with your buddies. The adrenaline fades - the stories last. With that in mind, every time you step on the field, you want there to be something cool to talk about. You want to share the excitement of sneaking up behind someone and shooting them. You want to revel in the adrenaline surge of the firefight when you were outnumbered 3 to 1. You will tell these stories long after the fight is over.

Many of the factors that help create those stories are controlled outside the game itself. My goal is to create games that build player stories by increasing those "cool" factors. This web site supports that plan. For example: the tips section is designed to make sure you can focus on the game instead of on your gear - so you can tell better stories. The tactics section is about improving your game - so you can tell better stories.

So take a look around. Please let me know if you have further questions. I'd be glad to share more. (Just ask my wife about conversations on paintball!) Thanks for stopping by.
